Position Title: Medical Director – Primary Care (MD/DO) Department: Womens Health Full-Time Clinic Hours: Weekdays 7:30AM-7:00PM, Saturdays 8:00AM-4:30PM PERMANENT PLACEMENT NO LOCUMS. Position Overview: New Bedford Community Health (NBCH) is a fast-paced federally qualified Community Health Center dedicated to advancing womens health through innovative, compassionate and evidenced-based care. Our mission is to deliver integrated out-patient primary care as well as office-based womens health services and gynecological support, such as pap smears, IUDs, and Nexplanon. The ideal candidate will have a passion for womens health, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to inspire and guide our multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals; all committed to serving the diverse and underserved patient populations in New Bedford. This is a fantastic leadership opportunity for a board certified/eligible Family/Internal Medicine (or related field) physician who is passionate and understands as well as values the unique perspectives and healthcare needs of women. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services including routine check-ups, preventive care, management of acute and chronic conditions, gender-specific screenings, and mental health services. Review medical histories, interpret diagnostic tests and labs. Offer patient education on preventive care, healthy lifestyles, birth control counseling & management of varied health conditions. Provide ongoing supervision, mentorship and support to a multidisciplinary team of Womens Health professionals Oversee and enhance the delivery of outpatient primary care and womens health services, including treatment of acute and chronic illness, preventive care,gender-specific screenings, postnatal services and mental health services Work to establish and maintain systems to ensure that patient services, clinical data and workflows support the organization objectives Collaborate and communicate with other departments and external organizations to improve patient care outcomes and access to ensure effectiveintegration of care Perform annual evaluations and peer reviews as required Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and professional development Required Education: Current and unrestricted Massachusetts Physician License (MD/DO) Active DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration Board Certification/Board Eligible in: Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (or related field) Current BLS/CPR Certification Other Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Interest or experience in community and public health preferred Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience Prior leadership experience preferred Comfortable with supporting LGBTQ+ population as well as individuals with substance use disorders Commitment and interest in working with multi-cultural and impoverished populations Experience providing medication assisted treatment (MAT) Primary or secondary language skills in Spanish or Portuguese (preferred) Strong eMR systems experience What We Offer: Collaborative & supportive work environment Flexible work schedule (one late weekday and/or rotating Saturdays) No hospital rounding or call, light practice call only (rotating schedule) Generous Earned Time off: 40 days of paid time off per year (includes 12 paid holidays) CME allowance Plus time off Malpractice Insurance Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Paid License, DEA, and CSR renewals Retirement savings plan (403b) with match Medical benefits available upon date of hire Dental, Vision, Disability insurance HRSA, Mass League and PSLF Loan Program eligibility New Bedford Community Health values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
