To our prospective teammates,I am the ICU Program Medical Director at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in Long Beach, CA.xc2xa0Ixe2x80x99m proud of the critical care practice wexe2x80x99ve built and welcome interest from practicing critical care physicians looking for part-time or per diem work.xc2xa0Ixe2x80x99d like to share more about it, specifically about ourxc2xa0people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:PeopleWe are an established team of physicians.Various members of our team are involved in committees in the ICU and the hospital including the Medical Executive Committee, Critical Care Collaborative, Medical Education Committee, and the Ethics Committee.We collaboratively work together across the unit and occasionally gather for nights out.PracticeLong Beach Medical Center is a 408-bed teaching hospital & level II trauma center. This is an ideal practice for those interested in caring for all types of high-acuity ICU patients and working with residents and fellows.We have a total of 47 ICU beds, with a 32-bed med/surg ICU and a 15-bed CVICU. In the ICU, two intensivists work 7a-7p. We also have one pulm-crit fellow & 4 internal medicine residents. At night there are two internal medicine residents.xc2xa0In the CVICU we have one intensivist that works 7a-7p. Intensivist, xe2x80x9cnoctensivistxe2x80x9d, and IM residents cover all 47 ICU beds from 7p-7a. xe2x80x9cnoctensivistxe2x80x9d is a non-CCM trained physician who is comfortable managing ICU patients and performing ICU procedures.PurposeWe put patients first.
