Ixe2x80x99m the Critical Care Program Medical Director for Northwest Community Hospital located in Arlington Heights, IL. xc2xa0I am proud of the intensivist practice we have built at Northwest Community Hospital and welcome interest from critical care-trained physicians coming out of training or looking to make a career change to explore our group and our practice. xc2xa0I would like to share more about who we are and what we do xe2x80x94 specifically about ourxc2xa0people, practice, and purposexc2xa0xe2x80x94 as you consider your options:PeopleWe are a team of 5 intensivist physicians and 2 acute care advanced practice providers.We provide 24/7 onsite coverage in the 36-bed ICU with medical, surgical, and neuro-critical care patients.Physicians work 12-hour day shifts in collaboration with APP who works a 10-hour shift. Nights are covered by an onsite physician, 12-hour shift.Within the hospital, we work closely with the multi-disciplinary team within the unit to collaboratively care for patients.Arlington Heights is a welcoming suburban community with a small-town feel, offering suburban living with easy access to downtown Chicago and other major cities. Metraxe2x80x99s Union Pacific/Northwest Line provides daily rail service to downtown. xc2xa0Enjoy the perks of Chicago living with the space and comfort of a village lifestyle.PracticeNorthwest Community Hospital is a 496-bed, community hospital with a designated Stroke Center.The ICU operates as a co-managed unit.We are seeking board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO) who possess or are able to obtain an Illinois license, have a commitment to excellence in clinical service, are forward-thinking and demonstrate problem-solving abilities necessary in the ICU, and demonstrate the ability to work as a team member and perform all technical skills in the critical care setting.We work in EPIC, with access to our own internal informatics platform.Full-time physicians work an average of 15 shifts per month, block shift schedule, generally in 4-5 day stretches.
